Huxley Greer is a distinguished USDF bronze and silver medalist, showcasing her talent at the I1 level of dressage. With a wealth of experience in both eventing and dressage, she has successfully brought multiple horses up through the levels, competing up to the CCI2* level in eventing.

Specializing in off-the-track Thoroughbreds, Huxley finds joy in teaching riders of all ages, levels, and breeds. Her passion for education drives her to continuously enhance her skills by training and taking lessons with top eventers, show jumpers, and dressage riders. This dedication not only benefits her own riding but also enriches the experience of her students, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment in her coaching.

Gina has been working with horses and riders for more than 40 years. She grew up in Delaware, just outside Fair Hill, Maryland, where she spent much of her childhood riding and showing. She trained her first horse at age 15, and her natural talent for working with horses grew from there.

A former Novice-level eventer and Second Level dressage rider, Gina is also a certified hunter-jumper instructor. She uses a patient, fear-free approach, building skills slowly from the ground up so that horse and rider feel comfortable and confident as a team. She enjoys working with riders of all experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced equestrians.

Gina began her professional career at Catch a Dream Stables in Nottingham, Pennsylvania, where she taught lessons, trained horses, competed, and became increasingly involved in eventing. In 1995, she moved to Missouri and purchased Painted Valley Ranch, a 120-acre farm where she developed a breeding program for National Show Horses and trained in western pleasure and western dressage. She also volunteered as a riding instructor for a youth program through St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

In 2001, Gina moved to Boggy Meadows Ranch in Minnesota, where she bred Arabians and National Show Horses. She also created her “Train the Trainer” program, teaching owners how to train their own horses.

After moving to Southern Virginia in 2016 to focus on raising her children, Gina returned to professional training in 2018, working part-time with the Gypsy Vanners at Blue Ridge Gypsy in Moneta. In June 2021, she rescued her Thoroughbred, Mindy’s Way, from the racetrack and has boarded her at Meraki Equestrian since October 2021.

Gina is thrilled to join the Meraki Equestrian lesson program and return to teaching. She looks forward to sharing her experience and bringing confidence, growth, and joy to everyone who wants to learn to ride.
